Pleas do not lock the doors

Anyway the boy is 4 and when his mother sends him over to ask my son if he wants to come out and play, he instead will come over and just walk right into our house without knocking or anything. He just walks in and usually will say “my mom said I could come over”. I called her the first time he did this and said I was just checking to make sure it was ok with her and she said “oh I would never send him over to play there without asking, he was supposed to ask if your son could come out and play”. I figured now that she knew he said this she would speak to him about it (I didn’t tell her he walked right in). However, he continues to come over and walk right in and will say he can play here. If I say “well my son has to do homework right now so you can’t stay” he will say “yeah my mommy said I could, I’ll just wait here”. I will tell him “well it’s up to ME if you play here, not your mommy and I end up having to coax him to leave.

I have told the boy that he needs to knock before he comes in but he never does. Should I call his mom and tell her that he keeps walking in without knocking and refuses to leave when I say we are busy or should I just deal with it and keep the doors locked? Is it normal for a 4 yr old to be like this? I swear I remember my kids having more manners than that by that age. I can’t imagine they would ever just walk into someone’s house.

The other day he walked in and said he could stay so I just figured ah whatever. Then the mom called about 10 minutes later and said “I assume my son is over there?” I told her yeah he was here and I wanted so bad to tell her that her little brat walked right in and just started playing but I held back LOL

The thing is, this kid is into everything for a 4 yr old. he comes over and makes a huge mess. I mean when my son goes over there they almost always play outside in the yard and my son is older so it’s like she has a little babysitter to keep her kid busy but when her kid comes to my house it’s like I’m babysitting because he is younger. I have to watch him like a hawk.

what would you do?
well they live directly next door so he just walks through the backyards and usually comes in the back door. I don’t usually lock that door because I have 4 kids myself that are in and out. I can lock the door but the fact is she knows I’m home because she lives right next door and I know she sends him over but she says she is sending him over to GET my son. But of course she is always fine with him staying if I allow it and she must know he will want to. I like the idea of asking her to call first so I don’t feel bad sending him away.

The oneroom guest house would be heated and would keep out wind and rain.

What would you choose?

Lets say you couldn’t afford a hotel?

Your car has a back seat that is very comfortable.

The oneroom guest house has a solid door with a lock.

The cott in the guest house would actually be a single mattress.

Since you would use the guest house your mother would allow you to decorate and paint the inside of the guest house.

For example your mom would allow you to paint the inside of the door and the walls.

Unfortunatley you wouldn’t be able to put windows inside.

Would you be afraid to close the door while you would be inside the one room windowless guest house?

The guest house gets warm and toasty with the little heater on.

This guest house is very small. Its about 40 square feet.

The guest house has no holes or windows in it.

Lets say the guesthouse has a mirror inside?

The area you live in a crappy motel costs $110 per night.

The door on the otuside is aqua blue. The inside of the door is unfinished/unpainted wood. What would you piant on the inside of the door? Colors or mural?

What would designs or colors would you paint on the walls?
