Would you let your teen/young adult sleep in the cabin in the backyard?

Lets say you have an old cabin in your backyard that has been vacant for years. Your teen/young adult wants to sweep out the cabin and paint the inside and put in a bed and mini-tv/dvd player. They would still keep thier bedroom inside the house.

This would be a ocassional place for you kid to hang out or sleep.

The cabin has wood floors, wood walls and and solid wood door with a door nob and lock.

This cabin had no windows at all.

Your kid wants to put in lights inside so its not dark inside.

You give your kid a simple rule. The rule is that the door must be closed while inside to keep out cold air, leaves and wind.

You tell them that on the ocassions they sleep in their they must have their cell phone turned on all night if you need to reach them. You also tell your kid that they can’t have any visitors at night and they must lock the door to the cabin at night while asleep.

Would you allow your teen or young adult to fix aup the cabin or just leave the cabin alone?
You disscussed with your kid all the rules about this cabin and they are excited.

The no windows thing doesn’t bother your teen. Would it bother you as a parent?

If you didn’t have any money to put in windows, How do you as a parent feel about no windows?

The teen would get a place that isn’t attached to the house.

Would you make sure they closed the door while sleeping at night?

How would you check on your teen if they were inside and had the door closed and locked?

The cabin doesn’t have windows.
How would you make sure the door was locked at night? Would you walk over and make sure? Would you lock the door from the outside if the door was unlocked?

Can A Realtor Enter Your Home Without Permission?

We have our home listed with a local “flat fee” service. That means that while we do have a lock-box on our front door, if a Realtor wants to show our home, our listing states they need to contact us directly. Earlier this week I had a Realtor call my cell phone but did not leave a message. (I Googled the “missed call” number to find out who it had been). When I got home about 3 hours later, a closet door was open and some lights were on. I’m quite sure the Realtor showed the house without our permission. The first issue is that our home was not show ready (dishes in the sink, etc) but the bigger issue is that we had jewelry and bank documents sitting about. Normally these are things we take care of when we know someone is coming to look at the house. I’ve called the Realtor twice and she won’t return my phone calls. What should I do?
Expert, thanks! That’s kind of what I was told when I listed. We DO actually have it in the listing on the MLX that they can call, leave a message and THEN show (which I have no problem with) but this lady did not leave a message. The only reason I knew it was her who called is because I Googled the “missed call” that showed up on my phone and it lead me to her. I’ll try her one more time and if she still refuses to contact me I’ll do just as you say. Thanks!

Can cell phone be use to open car doors from far away?

I heard that you can use your cell phone to unlock your car doors from home or somewhere far if you have two cell phone and two keyless entry car remote. For example, if one person took the car to the store and lock the keys inside the vehicle, they can call another person at home whom has another car remote and then the person at home can just press on the remote to unlock the car. I need some expert opinion on this…

Can someone at one location unlock a car at a different location with the key fob through a cell phone?

I read somewhere that a woman locked her keys in her car, and called her husband @ home. He pointed the spare key fob into the phone and clicked “unlock”. The woman pointed her cell phone @ the car, and somehow, it reached the car, thus unlocking the doors. Is this possible, or am I just way too gullible?

The baby monitor situation is a good idea.

The cabin can be viewed from any window in the house. It is not visable from the street or main road.

The cabin has a heater but no a/c.

Best way to get a Pay as You Go SIM card for use in the US?

There is a group of 10 going to Florida in August. To keep in touch we want to take some of cell phone (5-6).

Now in the UK you can just walk into any mobile phone operators shop, pick up a SIM card pack, take it to the till & hand over around £5. You can even get them free of charge from their websites!

It sounds like in the US this is not the case and nearly all the times you have to have a “pay monthly” contract.

Could anyone give any guidance for the lowest cost solution?

Oh, all are phones are unlocked as they are/were O2 Pay Monthly and they don’t lock phones.
