97 stratus radio and locks not working?

I have a 97 stratus that the radio and the power locks stopped working yesterday. I turned off the radio and it won’t turn back on and the locks just started working. I had a guy trying to program a new keyless entry remote and it involved the data link connector. I checked the fuses and they’re ok. I was wondering if anyone knew what might be wrong.
the battery didn’t work, and it just so happens that the odometer and tachometer work from time to time.

try disconnecting the battery cable from it for a few minutes ,if it did affect anything by him doing this it will erase it and the radio should start working again,i ran across this once before,but don’t remember exactly what i done to correct it,try that and see if it works,good luck.

I used to work as a service advisor and saw this concern a lot on the Stratus’s and also the Intrepid’s. I am not sure if all your guages in the dash are working or not of if things such as your other electrical components aren’t working, but when we would see this problem and everything else was ruled out it was usually the BCM (body control module). It controls more than those two items but if it is shorting then it can cause that same concern. Take it to your local auto part store, most will scan the vehicle for free take that code and call a dealership and ask them what that code means.
